Q  How do I register?

Registering your new account is easy and takes only a few minutes, this can be done for a small set-up fee of £10.00. Please note that all fields must be completed in order to register successfully. Once you have registered, you can log onto the website. You will need to provide the following information when registering:

• First Name and Surname
• Mobile Number
• Email Address
• Password (case sensitive)

Once you have entered the information correctly, click 'Create Account' and you will be able to log onto MyShortcodes and test our products and services.

Q  How do I Log in?
Enter your 'Email’' and 'Password'. These are both case sensitive. click 'Login' to access your home page.
Q   How do I buy credits?
We work on a prepaid basis. You can purchase credits online via Credit card, please see your accounts page for more detailed information.
Q   Can I exchange credits for cash?
No, credits are non refundable and have no cash value at any time. At the end of the billing cycle inclusive credit will expire and be replaced with a fresh batch of credits providing the account remains in credit. Additional credits will not expire providing the account is not in arrears.
Q   Can I share my account?
We strongly recommend you do not share your myshortcodes account with anyone else. Myshortcodes are not liable for any issues that arise from attempting multiple users and is against the usage policy. Multiple usage can result in the termination of the service with loss of any data or credits within the system.
Q   Can I change the auto-responder details?
Yes, this is a major feature allowing you to control each campaign individually ensuring your customer gets the maximum customer experience.
Q   What happens if my credits run out?

We recommend setting the auto purchase feature in the administration section, this will allow you to set a minimum threshold when the system makes an automatic purchase on your registered card.

In the event of your credits going to zero your system will still work. Your leads will be placed into your management solution and any email notifications will still operate. However there will be no outbound Text messages to you or your Prospect until the credit balance is restored.

Q   How do I purchase more sms credits if my campaign increases?
You pre-purchase credits from us. We'll advise on the amount you are likely to need depending on your estimated sms marketing response and the duration of your advertising campaign. We keep an eye on how many messages you are using each month to make sure you don't run out. You then purchase another bundle. When payment is received, we top up your account within 24 hours. All message pricing includes the UK interconnect fee, payable to the receiving network operator (Vodafone, O2 etc.) for delivering your message. This is now applicable for all UK operators. This fee ensures that our messages are treated as First Class messages and are delivered as swiftly as they possibly can be.
Q   How long does it take the platform to deliver SMS messages?
Messages are delivered within approximately 60 seconds.
Q  So what are shortcodes?
UK shortcode numbers are 5-digit text numbers common to all major UK mobile networks. Ours are zero-rated (costing the user their standard text rate).
Q   How many 'key combinations' can I have?
4, 8 or 18 please refer to packages. The Keywords are preset by us, however you can choose from the list and add your own sub keywords.
Q   How much do my customers pay to respond to my shortcode?
It costs one of their standard SMS message credits. There are no premium charges using our 'FREE' codes. There is no charge for receiving the message from you. We deliver your messages with an average delivery time of 30 seconds.
Q   Do I have to send a message back to each responder?
No. There is a simple to use feature allowing you to turn on or off the response to your customer. You can also change the detail of each campaign response.
Q   Do my SMS credits expire?
Inclusive do, additional don’t. Each month your inclusive credits will expire and be replaced with a new batch according to your package. Once you have bought Additional credits these will remain in your account until they are all used or your account is cancelled.
Q   What happens if I cancel my MyShortcodes account?
If your MyShortcodes account is cancelled your account will be deactivated. At that point access to your Management Portal will be denied and all records will be deleted. Your allocated shortcode number and keywords will then be made available to future subscribers of the MyShortcodes systems.
Q  How much notice do I need to give to terminate MyShortcodes account?

MyShortcodes does not require you to be tied into lengthy contracts. You are able to terminate your account with only 30 days written notice to admin@myshortcodes.co.uk. Once received the admin team will confirm your request to cancel your account.

Q   How do I renew my shortcodes subscription?
Your investment is 90 days, after 90 days you will have a 30 day notice period.
Q   Can I use my UK shortcode for overseas marketing?
Contact us for International options.
Q   Do I need to be technical to use the service?
Absolutely not. It's hosted and managed by us. We do the tricky bits for you. We pride our service on being user friendly.
Q   Are there online reports to keep an eye on how the service is performing?
Yes there are. Upon request we can provide monthly statistics. As with any marketing activity it is fundamental you measure the results.
